A weapon in RA2 is an object which ''normally'' deals damage.

In RA2, an object can have 4 four weapons
 
[[Primary]] - the main weapon.<br>
[[Secondary]] - a second weapon that usually affects a different TechnoType to the Primary one.<br>
[[ElitePrimary]] - new Primary weapon to use when at 3 chevron status.<br>
[[EliteSecondary]] - new Secondary weapon to use when at 3 chevron status.<br>
 
The IFV has multiple weapons dependent upon infantry inside.
 
Weapons are modifed by a variety of factors including garrisoning and <tt>[[OpenTopped|OpenTopped=yes ]]</tt> which often affects [[Damage]], [[Range]] and [[ROF|Rate of Fire (ROF)]]
 
Special weapons such as the VirtualScanner and V3Launcher are often used by AI for targeting purposes or for spawning logic to work correctly.
