A random number between 1 and 65535 which is used as the randomizer seed when determining how much water there should be and what 'shape' it should form (either a river or a lake). Changing this number can have quite an effect on the map, and its this value which will dramatically alter how the map appears. Creation of a Random Map is based on a random fractal generation process (as this closely reflects a model of some natural life processes). For information, heres the process used for the code to create a random map - note that the placement of water is early in the process, which explains the significance attached to adjusting the Seed= value;-
- Initialize the Random Map
- Seed Water
- Initialize Regions
- Make Regions
- Recalculate Cell Attributes
- Create Starting Points
- Add Tech Buildings
- Create Ore
- Create Hills
- Create LATs, Rocks and Terrain items
- Cleanup
- Compute Preview
You cannot set this in the Random Map Generator - it derives this value itself.
